The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link connects Shenzhen City and Zhongshan City, serving as a core transportation hub in the Pearl River Delta region. As a crucial part of the comprehensive transportation system in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the project spans approximately 24.0 kilometers, with the mid-sea section accounting for about 22.4 kilometers. The main line is designed for a speed of 100 kilometers per hour and features a two-way, eight-lane expressway, with a total investment of 46 billion yuan.

Since the initiation of construction on December 28, 2016, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has witnessed the completion of key structures, including the Zhongshan Bridge, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Tunnel. The project entered trial operation on June 30, 2024. In its first week of operation, the link recorded over 720,000 vehicle crossings, with a daily average of more than 100,000 vehicles, highlighting its critical role in supporting regional transportation.
